That’s why Dashwood Studios, situated in London’s vibrant Elephant and Castle area, is a winner. Not only is it ideally positioned for many London universities, such as LSE, UCL, and Imperial, but it’s also just minutes away from desirable destinations like Borough Market, the Tate Modern, and the iconic Ministry of Sound.
Previously, a well-known global supplier provided the site’s access control system. However, when the supplier suddenly discontinued support for the product, the site’s operator, Collegiate AC, was left with a problem. This started a search for an alternative access control and for this, it turned to NSP Security.
The challenge for Collegiate AC was that moving suppliers meant replacing the locksets of 232 apartments and the hard-wired readers on several communal doors. There were two important requirements. First, the doors needed to maintain their fire rating and to avoid any disruption to staff and students, all the work had to be completed in time for the new academic year.
However, NSP Security was up to the task and with close collaboration with Collegiate AC, these challenges were met. The entire project was efficiently completed in five working days and also included setting up the smartphone app and online access control system

With the new NSP Security system in place, Collegiate AC gained a global view of all access activity in the building enhancing its ability to manage security. The system also provides notifications when a student has not left their room or returned to it for an extended period, ensuring Collegiate AC could meet its obligations for student wellbeing.
